Since 2004 I have trained physically and mentally to combat the enemies of the United States. After participating in many battles throughout the War on Terror, I shifted focus in 2018 and now instruct others on the tactics and doctrine necessary for success in large-scale conflicts. Since switching efforts, I have spent countless hours studying the principles of physical warfare.

Then came the lockdown of 2020. Sequestered at home, I soon revisited Paul's inspired insights. This time, the words jumped off the page and refused to leave my thoughts. A question soon circulated within my mind: For 16 years, I've given my all in being the best physical warrior I can for the United States; this is telling me there is, in fact, a more significant and genuine spiritual battle. How do I prepare for and fight this battle with the same vigor and tenacity I applied to the physical fight? If that's what I'm supposed to do, there must be more to this spiritual fight.
