As we review Scriptures, it is clear mankind was created to have dominion of this planet and its physical realm; even though we see otherwise in the New Testament, Yahweh did not assign the Dragon as ruler of this planet.
Before sin, Yahweh charged mankind the following mission:
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. - Genesis 1:26-28
Adam and Eve sin. Death enters the world. They are expelled from the Garden of Eden. Over the coming ten extended generations (some living over 900 years), life on Earth devolves into depravity. Yahweh resets our planet through the flood. As Noah and the other seven survivors disembark from the ark, Yahweh again issues a familiar command:
1. And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. 2. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. 3. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. 7. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. - Genesis 9: 1-3, 7
Is Psalm 115:16, we read:
The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind.
And in Daniel 4:11:
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest (lowliest) of men.
The Conclusion
From these Scriptures it’s clear Yahweh desires mankind to rule this world according to His (Yahweh’s) will: “Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven” – Jesus.
That begs the question: By the time Christ came to earth, how did the Dragon secure his title as "Prince of this World/Air" (John 14:30, Ephesians 2:2)?
More critical: How do Christians step fully into the ambassador role Yahweh assigned while presently living in this physical realm?
We’ll arrive at these answers in future pages.
Conclusion: Yahweh’s intent is for mankind to rule this realm according to Yahweh’s will.
