Judah failed to return to Yahweh. As a result, Babylon returns 19 years after their first attack. After an 18-month siege, the city is destroyed (586 BC). Any surviving inhabitants of Judah are carried away as prisoners to Babylon where they will remain for the next 70 years.

• Yahweh detests mankind worshiping anything over Him
• Yahweh greatly values the lives of children, both inside and outside of the womb
• Sexual promiscuity (a large part of Baal worship) is of great offense to Yahweh
• Yahweh sent a warning through foreigners attacking from the north 
• 19 years later after continued rebellion, Yahweh punished His once holy nation with disease, war, and famine
• Those who survived were taken into captivity by Babylon for the next 70 years
