The Big E
Darwinian Evolution
Darwinism theory, being taught in our schools since the 1960's and now widely accepted as truth, claims that all life has evolved from a common ancestor. In his book, The Origin of Species, Darwin noted the differences between the finches found on the Galapagos Islands. From these observations, Darwin surmised that all life is simply a process of evolution.
Types of Evolution
To start, we must first clarify the types of evolution:
1. Cosmic Evolution: The origin of time, space and matter, by the Big Bang
2. Chemical Evolution: The origin of higher elements from hydrogen.
3. Stellar and Planetary Evolution: The origin of stars and planets.
4. Organic Evolution: The origin of Life.
5. Macro-Evolution: The changing from one kind of species to another kind of species.
6. Micro-Evolution: The variation within kinds of species.
Here, we see that what Darwin observed was the product of Micro-Evolution. His theory, however, makes claims of Macro-Evolution. Darwin saw a finch that evolved into... a finch. How then is the theory of a monkey evolving into a human considered a fact, much less a living cell from primordial soup?.
Darwin's Own Words
If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. But I can find out no such case. - Origin of Species, Ch. 6
DNA had not yet been discovered when Darwin wrote his book. He believed that a cell, in its simplest form was just that - simple. For his theory to work, it had to be. Otherwise, how could a vastly complex cell simply rise from a batch of primordial soup? Today, we know otherwise. Even the most simplest cell is extremely complex (see E-coli on the DNA page) and there is no way it could have simply evolved from soup. Yet, against Darwin's own words, we hold to his theory as being correct.
Darwin's Observations
Finches with different beaks
Darwin's Assumptions
First cell was simple
All life arose from this simple cell
A simple cell could evolve from primordial soup
Science Today
Even the most simple cell is complex
No observational evidence to support the macro-evolution theory
Conclusion
The evolutionary theory is one that holds to many assumptions and cannot be counted as fact, though all-too-often it is. Even Bill Nye in his 5 Feb 2014 debate stated scientists do not know how life started or what was before the Big Bang. Yet, even with two of the fundamental factors of the theory being unknown, it is widely accepted as truth. In my opinion, a vast amount of faith is needed to believe in Evolution and the Big Bang.
I welcome your thoughts as well as any evidence demonstrating the this theory.
This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. John 3:19
